Hmm, it's been a week since my last post... haha.. Not that nothing has happened. On the contrary, LOADS have happened since last week. haha.. I think I shall dedicate this post to my first camp with CHA(Camp High Achievers).. I must apologise for the lack of photos and lengthy post this is gonna be. Probably cos I don't have a compact camera to bring for the camp to take photos and probably don't have the time and effort to bring my dslr along to shoot. lols.. My job is mainly to facilitate the camp, not document the camp. lols.. So, here goes... Woke up super early that morning. haha.. My usual time, as though I was going to school. lols. Barely awake when I left home. haha.. Like gorgy. Took a train down to somerset then walked to the pri sch. It was a long walk there. haha.. Ain't very savvy, so, could only walk all the way there. ><>
Hmm, after the briefing, went up to the hall where all the pri 4 kiddos were waiting for us. haha.. They seemed all ready and excited to go for the camp. At least that was what I thought (and hence the word "seemed".lol.) Yeah, and after getting to know the little kiddos abit, then off we went on our 2D1N camp @ bottle tree park. It was really quite hard to get the kiddos to stick as one group to walk there. haha.. They're seriously just bursting full of energy. haha.. Ah well, I think I should just skip all the activities.. I think it's super boring to menton 'em here. lols. More like I'm lazy.. -.- BUT, anways.. haha=P And so, I've learnt quite abit from this camp. Scolding, works. haha.. Yeah, but they do have their limitations and you must know when to use the different methods of disciplining them properly. If done well, they'll win you the respect. In addition, primary school children are almost always looking for excitment and stuff. If you can entertain them and capture their attention, there you have. An army of small kids willing to do anything you ask them to. Seriously! They'll do anything that you asked 'em to. haha!! Which to me was really cute and touching, 'cos you'll NEVER get this from, say, secondary school kids (ok, maybe some over generalisation.. 'cos I've been in charge of some sec 1s who will do almost anything. haha.. :)) And so, this was a really fufilling camp for me. It is true as what people say. In teaching others, you learn too. :) On the side note: there's a hell lot of things I didn't put in this post, which I really regret not putting, 'cos they're kinda interesting and fun to talk about. haha.. Oh wells.. I'm lazy to type it in here. *bleagh* LOST at Tuesday, January 20, 2009 |
